POHKS1A History of Swedish 3 ECTS

Learning outcomes

Students learn the main lines of development of the Swedish language from old Swedish to the present day.

Contents

The diachronic development of the phonology, morphology, and syntax of the Swedish language is observed either on the course or as self study.

Teaching methods

Lecture or reading course. The credit can be completed in two ways: either by attending the lectures and the course exam, or by reading the literature and coming to the written exam on one of the general examination days. In the latter case, the credit is completed together with dialectology (POHKS1b) and onomastics (POHKS1c).
