General description

An introduction to family nursing research.

Learning outcomes

After completing this course, the student will
-understand the core family nursing concepts, principles and study methods
- be able to understand the special demands of family nursing research
- be able to critically review existing family nursing research, including limitations in study design, interventions and other limitations in a study.
- be able to critically evaluate family nursing literature and interpret the results of a particular study

- Introduction to family nursing and its basic concepts and theories
- introduction to family nursing research: special questions when the study focus is on a family
- intervention studies
- instruments in family nursing research
- study examples both from the Finnish and international family nursing research
