Preceding studies
Intermediate Spanish Course II or equivalent skills (A2 language proficiency level), fairly good knowledge of the basic Spanish grammar.

General description

This course is in accordance with the faculty requirements for a foreign language text comprehension / written skills course.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, the students will
- understand common-language general texts and topical articles, and understand their central contents
- recognise the structures pivotal to text comprehension
- be able to write simple texts on ordinary topics

Contents

This course expands vocabulary, goes through the structures pivotal to text comprehension, and improves students' skills in basic grammar. Texts are mainly newspaper and magazine articles, with possible related exercises.

This is a distance learning course consisting of guided independent work at home. The course lasts for two semesters and can only be started in autumn.

Further information

At the beginning of the academic year, an optional test for Spanish text comprehension / written skills will be organised for students who already possess the language skills this course aims for. Those who pass the test will be exempted from the course.
