General description

The course is a thematic course on the effects of human mobility on health.

Learning outcomes

To give the students knowledge on the following main fields: magnitude, causes and consequences of human mobility health, transnational encounters in health care, travel medicine and road traffic and health

Contents

• Magnitude and causes of internal displacement, immigration and emigration and definitions of human mobility status
• Individual and institutional competences in transnational health care
• Special issues in health of refugees
• Characteristics of travel and travelers in the world
• Main health problems of travelers, travel health interventions and their evidence
• Selected other issues: Road traffic and health, pandemics

This course consists of 3 elective modules (2 days each). Attendance is limited to students enrolled on the Master's program in Health Sciences (International Health). The course is offered for outside participants by Tyt as single self financed modules.
