Learning outcomes
After having completed the study unit, the student is aware of the problems of the standard representation of IR theories and has received an updated view of recent trends in the theoretical discussions. Student will understand the role and significance of metatheory in the study of international relations and can compare the pros and cons of various IR theories.

Luentokurssi muodostuu luennoista, harjoitustyöstä ja harjoitustöiden palauteistunnoista. Luennolla esitellään keskeiset kansainvälisen politiikan teoreettiset lähtökohdat. Opiskelijat syventävät tietämystään kurssilla jaettavalla artikkelimateriaalilla, jota käydään lävitse ryhmissä. Kursseilla tehtävät harjoitustyöt arvostellaan.
