Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students will

- have a basic knowledge of Chinese language and culture
- be able to communicate orally in short ordinary situations; greetings, apologies, farewells, introductions
- be able to read simple texts with the help of the pinyin system and recognise some characters
- be able to write simple characters

Contents

Basic pronunciation, grammar, listening pronunciation and tone practices, conversations for daily communication and various language skill supplementary exercises.
