Students learn details on Nordic place and person name research.

Contents

Knowledge of the role of place and person names in the Swedish linguistic history. Name analyses and classifications.

Teaching methods

Lecture or reading course. The credit can be completed in two ways: either by attending the lectures and the course exam, or by reading the literature and coming to the written exam on one of the general examination days. In the latter case, the credit is completed together with history of language (POHKS1a) and dialectology (POHKS1b).

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Active class participation and written exam.
