Students will become familiar with the theoretical basics of mental health disorders and psychological problems. They learn to apply research findings to interventions and therapies. They will understand the psychological, social and biological prerequisites of mental health, and the dynamics of risk and protective factors in disorders.
Contents
An introduction to the core explanation models of prevance and nature of mental health disorders. It includes analyses of the origins, maintenance and treatments of psychological distress and psychiatric disorders, and introductory material about psychosocial therapies and practices in health care.
