An optional course included in intermediate studies

Learning outcomes

To give an overview of the structure of text documents and databases, models of information retrieval, evaluation of information retrieval and research interests. The course deepens the students’ understanding of concepts examined in the course Basic Studies in Information Retrieval (INFOP3). Upon completion of the course, students are able to evaluate different methods of information retrieval.

Contents

Research on information retrieval; basic methods of processing natural language; matching techniques; query languages and user interfaces.
