Students become familiar with the polymorphous activity fields of social work. They acquaint themselves with different social problems, their nature and birth mechanisms, individual occurrences and social connections. Students are able to examine critically the relationship between individual problems and the social help system.
Contents
A seminar of problem-based learning, in which students become familiar with various subjects of social work (e.g. insecurity, exclusion, dependency, poverty) in the different fields of social work (e.g. child protection, adult social work, work with the disabled and old people) through different individual and group assignments. Students become acquainted with the themes through resource lectures, independent information retrieval, literature and group discussions.
