General description

Intensive training in recognizing characters and listening comprehension. Linguistic ability in both English and Chinese are used as a basis for increasing vocabulary and enhancing reading and writing skills through short reading passages, stories, diaogues, etc.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students will
- possess an advanced vocabulary and skills for understanding speech
- be able to read most characters fluently without the pinyin system
- be able to write some characters

Contents

Conversation practice, exercises for identifying characters, a series of reading exercises (stories, dialogue, etc.), listening comprehension exercises, writing characters and various supplementary language skill exercises.
