Learning outcomes

The participants are capable of writing clear and well argued philosophical texts, to give comments on philosophical papers and presentations and to discuss philosophical themes.

Contents

The good practices of philosophical argumentation are discussed in the proseminar. The student writes a paper, acts as an opponent of another participant's paper and takes part in philosophical discussion.

Arvioinnissa otetaan huomioon
- itselaadittu proseminaariesitelmä
- toisen esitemän opponointi
- aktiivinen osallistuminen keskusteluun

Independent study: basics of argumentation analysis and the formal requirements of a philosophical paper.
Writing one presentation, detailed examination of one presentation and active participation in discussion.
The student’s personal study plan (HOPS) is also checked in the proseminar.

Evaluation

Pass/fail.
