Learning outcomes

To master the central morphological structures and word classes of the German language and to understand that grammatical knowledge is a part of linguistics and language mastery.

Contents

Grammar as a concept, different sectors of grammar, word classes (verb, noun, adjective, numeral, pronoun and undeclinable classes), their characteristics, inflection and usage.

Modes of study

Class participation and exercises (knowledge of Finnish is required); a written final exam in German or in Finnish. Alternatively a book exam in German or in Finnish.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Evaluation by written exam.
