General description

This course is in accordance with the Faculties requirements for an advanced foreign language course. It is also suitable as an optional course for students of all faculties (Finnish students and international/ exchange students)

Learning outcomes

- Improve the personal and professional Spanish language in everyday life
- Understand TV news, documental and films
- Understand the main ideas in complex text, as well as conversations, discussions and lectures with relatively difficult level
- Develop skills necessary to write clear works including a relatively high level of grammar using complex sentences. Self-correction skills
- Polish effective comments and resumes orally or in writing
- Practice the skills needed to discuss current matters of Spain and Spanish speaking countries
- Knowledge of different aspects of the Spanish speaking countries: politics, society, economy, history, etc.
- Communicate fluently with native speakers. Express and maintain your own point of view

Contents

- This course is designed with the purpose of developing the oral and writing use of the language to an independent level, increasing the student vocabulary and tailoring to more advanced grammar.
- Develop all areas of your linguistic skills by writing exercises focusing on grammar
- Improve the oral comprehension and the skills to produce a complex oral text
- Analysis of newspapers, magazines, audiovisual material and other current matters. Special emphasis on the different aspects of life and society in the Spanish speaking areas
- Use of the language learning in an everyday context
- Use of the Spanish language in a professional range: letters, writing, reports, interviews, etc.
