General description

The purpose of NAM-2 is to introduce students with outlines of North American history, including the transatlantic perspectives. NAM-2 can be studied by taking a suitable course by written assignments (essays) or a book exam.

Learning outcomes

The aim is to situate both the continents in a global context as companions and rivals.

Introductory courses or a book exam on North American histories, including a transatlantic perspective

Teaching methods

The book exams should be taken on the same dates with the department of History and Philosophy.

Teaching language

English

Finnish students may also take the book exams and write their essays in Finnish.

Modes of study

Courses advertised in the North American Studies teaching schedule or a book exam.
