Learning outcomes

Students will level-up in master’s degree studies to achieve a more standard degree of knowledge about the fundamentals in the academic disciplines comprising the specialisation in media management. Thus, students without sufficient grounding in journalism and mass media (coming from B.A. studies in administrative science) will need coursework and/or readings to develop the basic understanding necessary for competence as a media manager, and the same of students entering with a foundation in journalism and mass media who lack grounding in administrative science.

Contents

It isn’t possible to say precisely what will be required because the requirements must vary according to each student’s prior studies and also experience in work life. The content may be derived from a course taught in upper division bachelor’s degree studies in either of the partner Schools, or it may be based on assigned readings as determined by Lowe (where and when appropriate, in consultation with colleagues from both or either school, as well as the broader network of colleagues in the field).

Numeric 1-5.
Agreed with the student and other faculty, but equaling 5 ECTS based on the form/s of examination considered best in each case.

Study materials

As assigned in coursework, or otherwise as a body contemporary readings from academic journals and books, trade press sources, international news magazines, and on-line reports.
