Learning outcomes

To provide the students with knowledge of the structure and function of regional, national and international health policies and health care systems, their function and financing strategies.

Contents

• situational analysis of population health needs, services, resources and environment
• alternative approaches to health promotion
• regional, national and international level approaches to health policy and planning
• organization of health care and the multisectoral approach to health
• Finnish health care system
• health care financing options
• multinational organizations and their impact in health policy formulation

Further information

Attendance is open for all University of Tampere students but limited to 32 students. Preference is given to degree students in health sciences and others will be accepted in the order of registration. Degree students are required to take the complete course (3 ECTS).

Also available: Lectures in Health systems, 2 ECTS. Unlimited attendance.
