Contents
The course introduces the use of descriptive statistics and the basics of statistical testing. It familiarises students with the different stages of statistical research, the starting point being in the acquisition of data and its presentation in data matrix form. The course introduces some means to illustrate information contained in the data. In addition, the course will familiarise students with the study of relations between variables by means of conditional statistics, scatter plots and crosstabulation. Also an introduction to probability and statistical inference is included in the course. Students will practise doing statistical research with some collected data.
