To provide students with practical experience of the English philology research methods.

Contents

The BA dissertation is an enlarged and improved version of the work presented in the proseminar (see A4a), and it is approximately 6,000 words (20 pages) in length. It is evaluated by the proseminar teacher, after which students take a maturity test ("kypsyyskoe") on one of the faculty examination days. In this test, students answer in Finnish to one of the three questions set by the teacher on the basis of the dissertation.
