General description

This course gives basic information and tools for understanding Asian Business law and Asian juridical environment.

Learning outcomes

The objective of the course is particularly to get the students acquainted with the legal aspects related to export and import process, technology transfer, licensing, franchising, joint ventures, wholly-owned foreign enterprises and for the procedures of repatriating the profits obtained from the enterprises in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Contents

The course introduces the students to the legal frames and practises of solving juridical problems in the Asia-Pacific Region. The main areas of emphasis are: characteristics of Asian, especially Chinese and Islamic business legislation, contract laws, capital and financial markets, trade and currency legislation, labor laws, taxation and intellectual property rights (IPR).
