TRSASM2A Seminar 5 ECTS

General description

The aim is to combine the seminar and the active research phase. Ideally students complete their theses at the end of the seminar or soon after. A research diary is a working journal, in which students concentrate specifically on work processes, how they have worked and solved problems. This helps map students' routines and alternative problems.

Learning outcomes

To acquire and develop the skills needed for a Master's thesis, research process and academic writing.

Contents

The basics of research work: different stages of the process, drawing up a research plan, information retrieval, critical thinking, writing a research report.

Teaching methods

The seminar lasts for a year and students can only start it at the beginning of autumn or spring semester.

Modes of study

Active participation in the seminar for two semesters, research plan for Master's thesis and a seminar project, which will also be a part of the thesis report, and a learning journal.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Pass/fail.
The course is passed once all the requirements are completed.
