General description

Students will widen and deepen their knowledge of legal English so that they are able to communicate effectively in working life.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course students are expected to:

- be able to understand demanding academic and professional texts relating to their field;
- be able to discuss issues relating to their own field with both colleagues and laymen;
- be able to give a presentation relating to their academic field making use of suitable technology; be able to deal with questions that may arise in the course of a presentation and to lead a discussion arising from a presentation;
-be able to write texts typical for written communication in professional life;

Contents

Reading comprehension and terminology exercises;

-pair and group discussions;
-writing exercises;
-short presentations on various subjects;
-presentation and discussion of a subject relating to students' special fields.
