Preceding studies
Level A English in upper secondary school, or equivalent skills (B1-B2 level of language competence). To achieve the required starting level, students may for example take an English prep course.

Learning outcomes

After completing this study module, students will
- be able to express themselves clearly and in a manner appropriate to the situation
- be able to discuss and negotiate different issues while taking other participants into account
- be able to hold a prepared presentation on a topic related to their own field of study
These skills will help students in their studies and later in following their own field and improving professional international communication.

Contents

During this course, students will
- tell about themselves and their studies
- discuss issues related to their own field of study
- use expressions required by different situations (e.g. negotiations, debates, interviews)
- become familiar with the general characteristics of a good presentation as well as with cultural practices of spoken English
- hold an oral presentation
