STYPS1E Development Work Practice 15 ECTS

Learning outcomes

Students become familiar with the practices of development work in social work and learn how to apply the instruments of development work in practice, describe development work and evaluate their own actions within it. Development work concerns the availability of services, quality guarantee, the development of activities and the service structure, and the development of the work methods in child protection, adult social work, senior services, criminal care and social work with substance abusers.

Seminar 20 h 0 h

Seminar 16h (starting, intermediate and final seminar 4+4+8h) and guided two-month development work in the field. Together with the university teacher and the practical development work instructor, the students define their development work in relation to the development challenges of the work place or service, carry out the work and report on it in writing and in seminar discussions.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Students' development work is evaluated by a university teacher. The evaluation takes into account the teacher's assessment regarding the practical development work period.
