Learning outcomes

The successful completion of this course provides a basic understanding of the political and social history of Russia and the Soviet Union. It further provides tools for deepening the understanding of particular questions regarding Russian and Soviet history. The course focuses on the interplay of society at large and its political system, and the modernisation processes in Russia / Soviet Union.
