To introduce students to - regulation and steering systems and quality control as tools of pedagogic leadership - steering systems and quality research in the context of early childhood education in Finland and in international context (comparative perspective)
Contents
1. Introduction: cross-cultural and comparative views to childhood, early education, quality and leadership in a changing society 2. Colloquium: interactive colloquium is based on participants own cultural backgrounds. Students represent childhood policy and early education in their own society. The challenge of participants is to make comparative reflection on educational systems and structures / educational leadership and quality in each others cultures. 3. Instructed observation and interview assignment; visit to a preschool or child care institution
