Level A English in upper secondary school, or equivalent skills (B1-B2 level of language competence). To achieve the required starting level, students may, for example, take an English prep course.

After completing this study module, students
- can understand professional and academic texts of their own field - can produce professional and academic texts - can recognise the structure of academic text and the functions of its parts - can utilise text structure and the clue words indicating semantic relations - can recognise and interpret the structures that are essential to understanding texts - have mastered terminology that is essential to their own field - can produce outlined texts and use the terminology that they have learned during the course in different situations

Modes of study
During the academic year, an optional test for written skills will be organised twice for students who already possess the language skills this course aims at. Those who pass the test will be exempted from the written skills course.
