After you have submitted your thesis for official examination, you are required to take a maturity test. This is to show that you master the subject matter of your thesis and can write correct scientific English (or Finnish or Swedish, if that was the language of your secondary education).
Contents
The maturity test is a written examination, which involves an essay-type answer of approximately four hand-written pages. Three alternative topics related the general theme of your thesis are given - a student chooses one of them as the title of the essay.
Teaching methods
The content of the maturity test is evaluated by the examiner of the thesis. Normally the test does not influence the grade of the thesis, but you must get a pass grade both for language and content.
