General description

Acquainting the students with understanding of comparative research on higher education and providing an introduction to different systems of higher education.

Learning outcomes

The student understands the basics of comparative higher education research and can formulate a comparative research plan.

Theories of comparative research on higher education systems.
Basic structures and functions of national higher education systems.

Each student shall write an essay (10 pages) on the basis of the lectures and the literature.

Recommended year of study

The course is an advanced level course and the recommended time of study is in the 1st year's spring for the master programme students. Other student who want to participate need to contact the person in charge.
