General description

Optional course in Specialization in the Social and Societal Contexts in Education and in Multicultural Study Programme in Education.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student
- understands the key educational problems in developing countries and the efforts of these countries as well as of development cooperation in finding solutions to the problems.

Contents

The course examines the present conditions of education in developing countries, the role of these countries´ governments and non-governmental actors in identifying and analyzing problems and devising solutions to the problems, and the potential role of development cooperation in this context.
