B1-B2 language proficiency level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and an acceptable performance in Swedish Oral and Written Communication.

Learning outcomes

The objective of this course is for students to
- improve the language skills acquired on the basic course
- become familiar with Nordic culture and society

Contents

During the course, students will
- discuss current themes concerning the Nordic culture and society orally and in writing
- retrieve information from literary and oral sources
- practise oral and written communication: describing phenomena, relaying information, presenting and justifying notions and opinions
- hold an oral presentation
- practise using linguistic tools and aids, and
- revise the basic grammatical structures, if necessary

For students majoring or minoring in Journalism; optional advanced course for students from the Faculty of Humanities; open to students from other faculties, space permitting.
