Learning outcomes

To acquaint students with different sectors of professional translation and to train them to translate more demanding texts.

Contents

This is a follow-up course to previous translation courses, with a focus on translating demanding special-field texts. Assignments concentrate on translation assessment, text analysis and translator's professional skills (giving and receiving feedback, information retrieval, team work, project management, customer contacts, etc) and create connections between translation in practice and translation studies.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Grade based on active class participation and translation assignments.
