This course introduces current public debates on key public health issues and gives a public health research perspective to the issues and the debates.
Learning outcomes
After accomplishing the course the student is expected to have a deeper understanding on the comtemporary public health debates and on how to apply public health research on analysing the content of such debates.
Contents
The core of the course consists of five contemporary topic seminars. The participants prepare themselves to the seminars by reading the topic text and by preparing questions on the basis of the texts. Each seminar will include expert lecture or expert debate on the text and discussion by all the participants. After each seminar the students will continue the discussion in Moodle.
