Learning outcomes

To gain general understanding of the transnational nature of media culture from the Asian perspective

Contents

The course discusses the global spread of Asian-originated media cultures, focusing on Japanese media and popular culture, Chinese and Hong Kong films and the so called “Bollywood” phenomenon. Approaches include production, distribution and reception/usage/fandom of Asian media cultures in Asia and globally.
