General description

Compulsory for students intending to proceed to the Advanced Studies of interpreting.

Learning outcomes

To train students in quick assessment of situations, accumulating general, linguistic and cultural material case by case, improving memory functions and consecutive technique, interpreting public and private dialogue, ethical professionalism and the ability to competently participate in conversations handling community interpreting.

Contents

Assessment of interpreting situations, acting as a community interpreter in school as well as in the field, methods of community interpreting, such as preparation, guidance of clients, influencing and adjusting to situations, defining questions and rotation of turns, exercises of preparation and feedback.

Modes of study

Qualitatively and quantitatively adequate interpreting.

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Grade based on interpreting exercises.
