Learning outcomes

To familiarise the student with the theories and principles of records appraisal in historical and international contexts,with the role of appraisal in shaping documentary cultural heritage and with some problems in designing preservation time periods.

Contents

Appraisal,DISPOSAL,preservation. Appraisal theories. The assessment of preservation needs from the viewpoints of business processes, privacy and data protection and research. Documentary cultural heritage. Archives as memory. The preservation and appraisal of electronic records. appraisal and research.
