To increase understanding of the relationships between language, communication, and culture, and examine the role of language in intercultural communication and cultural identity.
Contents
The format of the course will be a seminar where the students will pick a topic to explore and report on to the whole group. Students can work individually or in pairs or groups and the coursework will consist of some contact hours, but also independent work, tutorials and use of the Internet. A more detailed syllabus will be negotiated during the introductory class sessions.
