General description

An optional course included in intermediate studies

Learning outcomes

Familiarise students with the linguistic phenomena of information retrieval and introduce applications of language technology in information retrieval.

Contents

The levels of the study of language: lexicon, morphology, syntax, semantics, discourse, multilingualism. Computer applications on natural language and their problems. Applications of language technology in information retrieval.
