BTK2223 Basics of immunology 5 ECTS

General description

The topics of the course are central mechanisms of the human immune system and immune responses in different infections.

Learning outcomes

During the course, the student will learn the different parts of the immune system and how these parts work together. The student will also be able to apply the learnt basics of immune mechanisms to infections.

Contents

The course will cover cells and tissues important in immune responses and the basic mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity. Mucosal immunity, normal flora, inflammation and infection immunity against bacteria, viruses and other pathogens are also introduced during the course.
