Learning outcomes

To deepen the student´s knowledge of the main approaches of research on information practices in various contexts, to examine critically the strengths and limitations of the theories of the research field and to provide ideas for master´s theses.

Contents

Detailed examination of the basic concepts and models of studies on infomation practices, in particular information seeking, information use and information sharing. Cognitive and social factors in information seeking, use and sharing. The nature of everyday information practices accomplished in non-work contexts such as health care and hobbies. Issues of personal information management.
