Literature on the history and present day situation of libraries is used to write an essay on the interactive relationship between the libraries and the society.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course a student is expected to be able to:
-understand the character of library activities as a societal service function -make an outline of the historical development and present day situation of libraries
Contents
The goals set by the society for libraries and the resources directed to the activities, the historical and present day role of libraries in the societal development, the development of libraries as an institution.
