General description

The course is a thematic course on structure and function of national and international health systems.

Learning outcomes

To provide the students with knowledge of the structure and function of regional, national and international health care systems, their function and financing strategies.

Contents

• regional, national and international level approaches to health policy and planning
• situational analysis of population health needs, services, resources and environment
• organization of health care and the multisectoral approach to health
• health care financing systems, costs of health care and budgeting
• multinational organizations and their impact in health policy formulation

Attendance is limited to students enrolled on the Master's program in Health Sciences (International Health, Public Health).
