Learning outcomes

Students will learn and practice skills in conducting a research via hands-on experience in a guided workshop project designed and led by the professor of media management. Further, they will formulate and refine individual thesis research plans in a collaborative setting.

Contents

After completing the course the student will understand:

• How to define and conduct field research in media management studies
• Teamwork and collaborative approaches to research
• The application of relevant methods in research practice
• Practical skills in project management
• Application to individual research planning for thesis production

Teaching methods

Lecture, field assignments, critical reflection, presentations.

Teaching language

English

Modes of study

Readings, critical discussion, lecture notes, field research, collaborative exercises. Spans one academic year (the first full year of master’s studies).

Evaluation and evaluation criteria

Numeric 1-5.
Attendance, fulfillment of field assignments, team evaluations of individual contributions, assessment of presentations.
