The objective is to provide the students with the capacity to take the pupil diversity into account when making teaching plans. The students understand the Finnish curriculum ideology as the background for multilingual education, and receive the preparedness to apply and develop curricula in practice.
Learning outcomes
The course familiarises the students with the Finnish curriculum system and curricula, including the background of multilingual education in Finland. The various factors relating to the learning process are discussed in conjunction with planning the pupils' native language teaching, familiarising the students with - diagnosing the preconditions for learning including the support functions available, - identifying the learners' specific linguistic difficulties and - the basic premises for the evaluation that supports the learner's process of growth.
