Learning outcomes

To enable students to critically examine conceptions relating to information technology. Conceptions on the formation and role of information technology, professionals of information technology, users, information technology in organisations, information society, work distribution and work descriptions in changing development and user contexts are examined. Topics are discussed from the points of view of individuals, both users and IT professionals, and organisations and society.

Contents

History of information technology. IT professionals. Conceptions on the formation of technology. Information technology in working life. Conceptions on people and human information processing abilities. Information technology and organisations. Information society. Impacts, professions, employment and future visions of information technology. Knowledge society.
