Learning outcomes

To introduce students to the basic concepts of Russian phonetics and the phonetic structure of the Russian language.

Contents

Introduction to the Russian sound system, central phonetic rules, word stress and intonation types. Exercises in phonetic transcription and transliterating Russian words. Corresponds to SLAFP105 Theoretical phonetics in Slavonic Philology.
