Level A English in upper secondary school, or equivalent skills (B2 level of language competence). To achieve the required starting level, students may for example take an English prep course.
After completing this study module, students will - be able to fluently tell about themselves and of their studies - be able to hold a professional and fluent presentation on a topic related to biotechnology - be able to discuss and negotiate issues related to biotechnology and take other participants into account - be able to express themselves clearly and in a manner appropriate to the situation - master the central structures, scientific terminology and pronunciation rules of English - be able to use expressions required by different situations (e.g. negotiations, debates, interviews)

During this course, students will - tell about themselves and their studies - discuss issues related to their own field of study - use expressions required by different situations (e.g. negotiations, debates, interviews) - become familiar with the general characteristics of a good presentation as well as with cultural norms and cultural practices of spoken English - write a CV, hold an oral presentation and practice job interviews in English
