General description

Students will widen and deepen their knowledge of legal English so that they are able to communicate effectively in working life.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
- understand demanding academic and professional texts relating to their field;
- discuss issues relating to their own field with both colleagues and laymen;
- give a presentation relating to their academic field making use of suitable technology; be able to deal with questions that may arise in the course of a presentation and to lead a discussion arising from a presentation;
- write texts typical for written communication in professional life.

Contents

To achieve the learning outcomes, students will
- participate in pair and group discussions
- engage in various reading comprehension, terminology and writing exercises
- deliver short presentations on various subjects
- prepare a presentation and participate in a discussion of a subject relating to students’ special fields
