Learning outcomes

The module gives an overview of the basic concepts and problems of contemporary metaphysics and of the history of metaphysics.

Contents

At least the following themes are discussed:
- the concept of existence
- categories of being
- the problem of universals
- personal identity
- time and change
- causality, determinism, and free will
- the existence of God
