An optional course included in intermediate studies

Learning outcomes

To provide an understanding of the basics of management and familiarise students with the management of information systems and organisations (libraries, archives, information service organisations, communications businesses) with the viewpoint: What is good management like? What is essential in management?

Contents

Management of organisations and people. Organisational theories, management theories and practice.

24 h of lectures, individual and group work. The course requires of the students commitment, initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a group.

Modes of study

Problem based learning. Lectures by visiting lecturers, getting acquainted with theoretical literature and team work in which participants prepare questions for lectures and write their learning diaries combining theory and practice. Personal learning diary.
